I am an assistant professor in Computer Science, Data Science Institute, and Cognitive Science (affiliated) at the University of Chicago. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Social Science group at Microsoft Research. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where I was fortunate to be advised by Percy Liang. Before that, I was an undergraduate at Korea University.
One of my current research interests is Writing with AI, especially how AI is transforming our writing process, the content we produce, and our identities as writers. Concretely, I design writing assistants, capture and analyze human-AI interaction, evaluate the ability of AI to complement human capabilities, and develop new techniques to further enhance our productivity and creativity. My research is at the intersection of natural language processing (NLP) and human-computer interaction (HCI).
